Anticorrosion Studies: Solvent-Free Conventional & Nano Epoxy Coatings
Steel, particularly mild steel (MS), is extensively used in industries due to its affordability and accessibility. However, MS corrodes under atmospheric conditions, leading to its consumption.1,2,3 To protect steel constructions from degradation, organic and metallic coatings, inhibitors, and cathodic protection are crucial mitigation methods.3 The most useful method of corrosion prevention is to insulate the metal surface with the help of organic coatings.4 Polymeric coatings play a significant role in providing protection against corrosion by creating barriers and/or utilizing active corrosion inhibitors.5
