Multiplex stimulated Raman histology: a route towards the application to the clinical routine

Stimulated Raman Histology (SRH) can be used for label-free histological tissue analysis. However current approaches are limited to just two simultaneous Raman peaks, restricting chemical specificity and suffering from limited applicability to just fresh/fresh-frozen samples. Here we present a new approach to SRH, based on multiplex SRS technology, which is enabling deep FFPE-tissue biopsy analysis. The simultaneous detection of 38 channels across the entire CH spectrum (2800-3100 cm-1) in parallel allows chemometric and multimodal tissue analysis on all kind of tissue samples. By incorporating AI-driven virtual H&E staining and tissue segmentation for diagnostic purposes, it advances SRH towards clinical-diagnostic.
