Low threshold supercontinuum generation on the GaAs0.51Sb0.49/InP
Broadband light sources at the chip scale in the mid-infrared range are highly sought after for the advancement of compact spectroscopy and sensing tools in the molecular fingerprint region. We present mid-infrared supercontinuum generation in GaAs0.51Sb0.49/InP dielectric waveguides, achieving a record-low pump power threshold. Our findings open the door to the development of an electrically-pumped, chip-scale mid-infrared supercontinuum source, based on the monolithic integration of a quantum cascade laser pump with passive waveguides on an InP platform
