Programming coherent-wave mixing for broadband quantum optical engineering with arbitrary poling
We present our recent results on the development of programmable nonlinear-optical waveguide, where the two-dimensional spatial distribution of second-order nonlinearity can be reconfigured in real time on a slab waveguide. This platform enables engineering coherent wave mixing via quasi-phase matching, letting us manipulate broadband spectral-temporal features of light. We discuss the implications of the results both for more established approaches to quantum communication and information processing and for more speculative regime of non-Gaussian quantum nonlinear optics.
