Green optical quasiparticles fiber laser
Optical fields, possessing exotic polarization textures, have been intensely studied as optical quasiparticles. The optical quasiparticles can be easily synthesized by the coherent superposition of two Laguerre Gaussian modes with different azimuthal indices in orthogonally linear or circular polarization basis, and they are classified into Néel (hedgehog), Block (vortex), and anti (saddle) quasiparticles by Stokes vector fields. We herein demonstrate experimentally the direct generation of green (523 nm) optical quasiparticles from a diode-pumped Pr3+ ions doped fluoro-aluminate glass fiber laser with an intra-cavity wedge-plate shearing interferometric output coupler. Our proposed system enables freely the generation of high-quality green optical quasiparticles, thus exploring many applications in materials sciences and biotechnologies.
