The Effect of Self-Determination of Customers Using Staycation on Subjective Well-Being:The Mediating Effect of Motivation

[Purpose]Recently, due to the interest in well-being and changes in leisure trends, the demand for staycation products is increasing. Unlike other consumption, staycation products are closely related to well-being in terms of self-determination in the selection process, so it is time to study motivation. [Methodology]This study conducted a survey centered on guests of five-star hotels in the Seoul metropolitan area based on domestic and international academic journals, related research papers, books, etc., and literature review, and statistical processing and hypothesis verification were performed using SPSS28 and AMOS. [Findings]The results of this study are as follows. First, the hypothesis that self-determination will have a significant positive (+) effect on motivation was accept. Second, the hypothesis that motivation will have a significant positive (+) effect on subjective well-being was partially accept. Third, the hypothesis that motivation will mediate the relationship between self-determination and subjective well-being is partially supported. [Implications]The implications of this study are as follows. The implications of this study are as follows. We attempted to develop a theoretical system that can develop products through internal and externalmotivation regarding the influence of self-determination of service product purchasers on subjective well-being, and verified it so that it can be reflected in practice.
