The Gust Response Mitigation Controls for Large Aircraft Systems via PID and ADRC

This article develops the gust response mitigation method by using a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) based adaptive control and an active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) to optimize the stability performance of large civil aircraft in airflow. By simulating the performance under different fault conditions, the results show that the ADRC stabilizing controller significantly reduces the airflow response of the large aircrafts under different operating conditions.

Abstract

This article develops the gust response mitigation method by using a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) based adaptive control and an active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) to optimize the stability performance of large civil aircraft in airflow. By simulating the performance under different fault conditions, the results show that the ADRC stabilizing controller significantly reduces the airflow response of the large aircrafts under different operating conditions.
