Power optimization of an electric propulsion system based on variable speed rotor blades
Abstract At present, EVTOL (Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) airplanes are continuously developed on the basis of electric propulsion airplanes, which have the advantages of not being restricted by the terrain, low pollution, and low noise. However, there are problems such as insufficient range time and short range. To address this problem, based on the variable-speed rotor electric propulsion system whose rotational speed can be adjusted quickly, this paper first models the rotor system based on the theory of foliation-momentum. It optimizes the rotational speed and pitch angle of the rotor by searching for the smallest power demand point under the current pull in real time through the particle swarm algorithm. Reduce the power demand of electric propulsion systems. The simulation results show that the electric propulsion system cruise power demand decreases by 20kw and take-off and landing power decreases by 30kw after the optimization in this paper, which saves a total of 14.83 KWh under the full flight profile, and the range of the aircraft is increased by 23km, with a range enhancement of 10%.
