Cover Feature: Unveiling Quantum Coherence Effects in Modulating Electron Transfer in Platinum (II) Donor‐Acceptor‐Donor Systems (Chem. Eur. J. 16/2025)

Quantum coherence-driven charge separation (CS) has been demonstrated in PtII cis-acetylide donor–acceptor–donor systems. The accelerated CS rates (4–8 times faster) are due to interference between double CS paths, resulting in a two- to threefold enhancement in electronic coupling. Within the framework of a mixed-valence scheme, supported by DFT calculations, the study reveals how QCEs modulate the photophysical properties of molecular systems, providing valuable insights for designing high-efficiency materials for energy and charge transport. More information can be found in the Research Article by T. Cheng and co-workers (DOI: 10.1002/chem.202404512).
