"HEY, CHILDREN, IT'S TIME TO GO TO SCHOOL!": THE GENERAL AND THE SPECIFIC IN THE PRIMERS FOR NATIONAL SCHOOLS OF THE USSR 1950-1970

The article presents an analysis of the ABC books for national schools of the USSR in 1950-1970s. The components that are common to all literacy manuals in all regions of the country are noted, and, on the contrary, those that constituted the national characteristics of a republic or region. The image of a child on the pages of national ABC books is examined in detail, and how school uniforms change during the 1950s-1970s is reflected. A conclusion is made about the representation of the appearance of an ideal student to children - images of identically dressed children symbolize visible order and unity: you are Soviet schoolchildren throughout the country, regardless of their nationality.
