PAYMENT SYSTEMS AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF ECONOMIC RELATIONS: FROM SUBSTANTIAL ECONOMY TO VIRTUAL ECONOMY

In this article, the author examines the impact of the evolution of payment systems on the development of economic relations. The stages of the evolution of payment systems are distinguished, from the emergence of quasi-money to blockchain technologies. The transition to each next stage gives impetus to the development of the economy. The stage we are currently at is the formation of a virtual digital economy, the payment infrastructure of which is decentralized payment systems.
