Las plegarias sufíes y devocionales de Mohamad Rabadán: un poeta morisco que ora a dos voces
Abstract Muhammad Rabadan, a seventeenth-century Aragonese Moorish poet, is the author of a miscellaneous work, which he composes in the Iberian Peninsula and later takes with him to his Tunisian exile: the “Discourse of Light,” along with the poems “Day of Judgment,” “Song of the Moons,” and “The Names of God.” This study proposes that his poem can be read, not only as a history of Islam, but also as a devotional notebook: as daily devotional prayer or as a Sufi guide, full of specialized mystical imagery.
