THE ROLE OF INDUSTRIAL CLUSTERS IN ACHIEVING SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN IRAQ

This article presents the role of industrial clusters in Iraq as one of the most important mechanisms to enhance economic growth through the development and growth of small and medium enterprises. Industrial cluster contributes to reducing unemployment, attracting foreign investment, enhancing technological development and increasing industrial exports, in addition to its ability to generate income from various industrial sources and reduce over-dependence on oil revenues. It also identifies the role of industrial clusters in achieving economic development and how Iraq’s resources can be utilized so that the industrial sector in Iraq becomes a vital one on which economic development prospects are based, as a strong complement to strengthening and developing the industrial sector in Iraq and thus enhancing competitiveness among industrial establishments.
