DEVELOPMENT OF A METHODOLOGY FOR ADDITIVE TECHNOLOGY AS A RECEIPT OF THE ORIGINAL WORKPIECE

Additive technologies are widely used in various fields of mechanical engineering in mass production of products and in the process of developing new products. The choice of additive technologies as a method for obtaining initial blanks is made by specialists in a particular industry, based on personal production experience. Therefore, additive technologies or 3D printing often give way to traditional methods of producing blanks. On the other hand, the design of the product, laid down in the early stages of design, often does not allow the use of the grown workpiece due to non-compliance with manufacturability requirements, so designers and developers need a device that shows the criteria for using additive technology when obtaining a workpiece for given production conditions. As part of the study, a methodology for selecting additive technology as a method for obtaining the initial workpiece was proposed, presented in the form of a block diagram. Using the technique involves considering the material of the parts; geometric and design parameters of parts; calculation of the additivity coefficient of the part; technical requirements for the part, namely accuracy and surface quality. The proposed method is analyzed using the example of the “Inlet valve” part. Based on the study, it was concluded that additive manufacturing has a high potential in mechanical engineering. The developed algorithm allows us to identify areas of effective use of additive technologies in the manufacture of initial workpieces in mechanical engineering.
