Protection of the rights of children who have suffered from domestic violence as a component of the National Security of Ukraine

The relevance of the article lies in the fact that the critical state of protection of children’s rights in the context of military aggression against Ukraine requires an urgent search for ways to improve and ensure their protection. For more than eleven years, war has been going on in Ukraine and for more than three years, a full-scale invasion has been going on, which exacerbates the problem of domestic violence. For many years, children have been and remain the weakest link in society, because given their physical and psychological development, they are simply unable to protect their rights and legitimate interests in a certain way. The state, represented by certain bodies, is obliged to develop a set of measures to ensure effective protection of the rights of children, especially those suffering from domestic violence. Researchers see the main reason for the spread of violence against children in crisis phenomena in the economic, political and cultural spheres, which negatively affect family relations, causing a tense emotional and psychological atmosphere. Due to difficulties, some parents cannot effectively fulfill their educational function, giving priority to material security or resorting to irritability, rudeness and quarrels. The protection of children requires an interdisciplinary approach that would take into account historical, social, cultural, demographic, pedagogical and legal contexts. It is important to develop and implement legislative acts that will regulate the protection of children from violence and establish clear rules and standards for an appropriate environment for their development. Such measures will help reduce the level of violence in families and provide children with proper protection of their rights and safety, which is an indispensable condition for full growth and development. The need to study, develop and implement state policy is argued, which will be aimed at creating political, economic, social, organizational, informational guarantees that will ensure and regulate the comprehensive needs of children, the realization of their creative potential, the improvement and protection of their national-patriotic positions and ideas, etc.
