Effect of Glass Cover Angle on the Performance of Double-Slope Solar Still
As the demand for freshwater increases, solar distillation methods are gaining attention owing to their potential to provide sustainable solutions using a free energy source. The current study examines how varying the angle of the glass cover angle affects the performance of a double-slope solar still. The glass angles of 30°, 34°, and 38° were investigated by the ANSYS Fluent software. Hence, this study focuses on the impact of these angles on the thermal efficiency and condensation processes within the still. The obtained results indicate that the glass cover angle significantly influences the heat absorption and the rate of water condensation. Therefore, the optimal glass angles were identified, leading to enhance the freshwater production rate. These findings offer practical guidance for improving the design and efficiency of double-slope solar still (DSSS).
