Control of Battery and Supercapacitor in Multi-Source Energy Systems Using Proportional-Integral (PI) Strategy
This paper presents a cascaded control strategy using Proportional-Integral (PI) controllers for managing the battery and supercapacitor in a multi-source energy system. The proposed approach focuses on ensuring optimal power distribution between these two energy storage devices to handle both steady-state and transient load demands. The battery is primarily responsible for long-term energy storage, while the supercapacitor addresses short-term power fluctuations due to its rapid charge and discharge capabilities. The cascaded control scheme is designed to achieve precise voltage and current regulation, improving the system's response time and overall stability. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy in maintaining stable operation and efficient energy flow within the system. This control framework provides a scalable solution for multi-source energy systems, enhancing the reliability and performance of the battery-supercapacitor combination
