Robust Multivariable Controller Design for Oil Pipeline: Analysis and Synthesis of $H_{\infty}$ Controller
The paper presents the design of an H-infinity controller for controlling oil pipeline systems, focusing on pumping petroleum products between fuel installations. Due to the nonlinear characteristics of the pipeline system, including variable operational parameters such as fluid viscosity and specific mass, the paper suggests using a robust multivariable controller. The controller is designed to handle uncertainties in the system model, aiming to ensure stability and robust performance across a wide range of operating conditions. The methodology includes the synthesis of an H-infinity controller combined with a <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\boldsymbol{\mu}$</tex> -robustness analysis to mitigate the effects of these uncertainties. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
