Dynamic Prediction of Insulator Pollution Flashover and Analysis of Factors Influencing Pollution Flashover—Part II
Building on the pollution flashover model developed in Part I by Guo et al., this paper further explores the dynamic evolution of key parameters during the pollution flashover process, particularly we focus on the temporal variation and propagation characteristics of the arc. The analyzed parameters include leakage current, arc length, pollution layer resistance, as well as the temperature and thickness of the pollution layer. By examining the propagation speed and development trends of the arc, we provide deeper insights into the mechanisms governing insulator flashover under various environmental and operational conditions. Additionally, the effects of salt deposit density, ambient temperature, wetting layer thickness, and leakage current on the flashover characteristics of insulators are thoroughly examined. The relationships between arc initiation voltage, flashover probability, critical flashover arc length, and salt deposit density are analyzed, while accounting for the stochastic nature of discharge. Furthermore, the influence of ambient temperature, pollution layer wetness, and applied voltage on the pollution flashover characteristics is analyzed in detail, providing deeper insights into the mechanisms governing insulator flashover under various environmental and operational conditions.
