Intelligent Design Method Based on the Characteristic Analysis of Road‐dike‐combined Engineering

Abstract The road‐dike‐combined engineering is characterized by combining dikes with highways or urban roads, which is the typical engineering that combine flood control and transportation. This paper shows an intelligent design insight into the road‐dike‐combined engineering, which is compared to ordinary dike. First, by analyzing the characteristics of dike and road, their features and significant technical differences are found, especially in terms of dike width, dike axis, functional facility, intersections, and subgrade. The value of key parameters and design method of core component are also proposed. Secondly, based on the proposed features and parameters, some suggestions about intelligent design method and software progress of road‐dike‐combined engineering are also proposed. Finally, together with some engineering experience, some suggestions for the intelligent design of road‐dike‐combined engineering are given. These analyses have shown us that the combination of dike and road can be quantified, while the intelligent design method is an extension of quantitative research and can serve as the foundation for automated design software. By the above, this paper could provide a new reference for the intelligent design for other similar projects in the research field of combining flood control and transportation.
