Study on the Compressive Loading Capacity of Schifflerized 60° Angle

Abstract The ultimate bearing capacity of schifflerized 60° angle is studied by finite element method, and the processing parameters of schifflerized 60° angle are given, and the ultimate bearing capacity of schifflerized 60° angle parts with different slenderness ratios of 4 different specifications are given. The finite element analysis was performed, considering the effects of initial bending and residual stress, and compared with the calculation results of different specifications. It was proposed that 1) the axial compression bearing capacity of schifflerized 60° angle is higher than that of hot rolled 90° angle steel, up to 40%; 2) For uni‐symmetrical open section schifflerized 60° angle, when the slenderness is relatively small ( λ ≤ 60 ), the bending and torsion instability around the axis of symmetry plays a control role; 3) Adopt the “Steel Structure Design Code” The b‐stability curve is used to calculate the axial compression bearing capacity of schifflerized 60° angle, which is safe.
