Experimental study on the effect of porosity on the mechanical properties of photocatalytic porous concrete

Abstract In this study, porous concrete was prepared with different target porosities (6%, 8%, 10%) and sprayed with different amounts of nano‐TiO2 (200g/m2, 300g/m2, 500g/m2) to prepare photocatalytic porous concrete, and in‐depth research was carried out to investigate the effect of the porosity of the photocatalytic porous concrete on its mechanical properties. At the same time, the influence of the optimal target porosity on photocatalytic experiments was explored. and to explore the effect of the nano‐TiO2 loading on the properties of the The effect of nano‐TiO2 loading on its properties was also investigated. It was found that the porosity was positively correlated with the water permeability coefficient and negatively correlated with the compressive strength. The loading of nano‐TiO2 can slightly increase the compressive strength, but the effect on the water permeability coefficient is small. In addition, the regression equations of porosity with water permeability coefficient and compressive strength were obtained by data fitting analysis, which provided a theoretical basis for predicting the mechanical properties of photocatalytic porous concrete.
