Research Progress and Prospects on the Anti‐scourability of Embankments under the Influence of Root‐soil Complex

Abstract The anti‐scourability of embankment soil under the influence of vegetation root‐soil complex is crucial for the safety of the Yellow River embankment. The current research status of plant slope protection soil anti‐scourability and soil stability simulation is systematically reviewed in this study, the main problems existing in current research are clarified, and pointing out that risks such as wandering riverbed, secondary suspended river and frequent extreme floods still exist, which affect the safety of the downstream embankment of the Yellow River. It is proposed that the anti‐scouring performance of embankments under the influence of plant root‐soil complexes should be studied and anticipated through a combination of physical model tests and numerical simulations. The research results not only provide scientific support for flood control and disaster reduction in the downstream beach area and flood prevention warning for embankments, but also have important theoretical significance and practical value.
