Determining significant properties of used aircraft parts intended for subsequent use

Next decade a quite significant number of aircraft (AC) will be retired. From one side, it will happen due to their lower economic efficiency in comparison with most modern AC, and from another side, due to lower potential to implement the most actual modifications for conformance modern customer and technological trends. There are many of such kind AC will be retired in the middle of their lifecycle, thus their components and parts could be valuable for those companies, that proceed operate previous generation AC (for instance A320CEO or B737NG or others within the same gen). To analyze previously published research on the topic of the work, identify existing problems and gaps, as well as determine how the authors can contribute to their solution the literature review of some corresponded articles and researches has been performed and briefly stated within this work. This was complemented by an examination of the current state of aviation industry stakeholders’ involvement review to the topic of AC decommissioning. One of the ways, that can improve aviation enterprises operation efficiency can become the creation of a decision-making framework to determine economic-efficient scenarios for AC used components at end-of-life and disposal stages. In another words, while industry has quite big amount of AC that probably retired with components and parts useful life remaining, as well as quite significant airlines that operates the previous generation AC – it is possible and make sense to create effective decision-making system that will be based on deep analysis of economic aspects, depending on numerous of AC -donor and its components/parts properties. This will support with determination of economic-efficient scenarios for AC used components at AC end-of-operation, end-of-life and disposal stages. To create basement for such complex task, within the framework of this work, the authors using ontology-based approach have proposed the composition of indicators (framework) that will form the basis for subsequent decision-making model to determine economic-efficient scenarios for AC used components at AC end-of-operation, end-of-life and disposal stages.
