The impact of human resources on contemporary environmental trends for the sustainability of the Croatian marinas

This paper explores the growing risk of marine and coastal pollution due to the expansion of nautical tourism, which entails an increase in the number of vessels, moorings, and new nautical ports. The main objective of the study is to present environmental protection methods and potential human resource management strategies aimed at promoting proper education on reducing ecological impact. Through research conducted on students at the Maritime Faculty in Split using a survey questionnaire, attitudes and opinions regarding the role of management in environmental protection and personal contribution were analyzed. The findings suggest that a substantial majority of respondents advocate for management to promote "green behaviour" among employees, while a considerable number of respondents believe that the value of future employees well-educated in environmental protection will significantly increase in the job market over the next 5 years. The paper also introduces modern methods for creating a work environment that fosters pro-environmental practices to ensure the long-term sustainability of nautical tourism.
