The influence of hydrostatic pressure load on the loss of submarine buoyancy
This study analyses the impact of hydrostatic pressure on the loss of buoyancy of a submarine. The study focuses on a deeper understanding of submarines’ buoyancy principles, discussing the concept of residual buoyancy and presenting the relationships related to trimming submarines. This issue is crucial from the point of view of the safety and operational effectiveness of submarines. The research was carried out using the finite element method and laboratory tests of construction materials. A mathematical model of steel used for submarines is presented. The results obtained during the research will be used to improve underwater units’ design processes and better understand their operation procedures.
