Application of a simulation model in sat for a fast boat

The paper presents the results of fast boat dynamics using a simulation model. Mathematical equations of ship motion dynamics, i.e. the run-up of the propeller shaft, are demonstrated with MATLAB and Simulink as simulation tools. The model presents acting thrust, hull resistance, rudder forces and propeller performance curves. The application models the dynamic differential equations representing the vessel dynamics in 3DOF. Modules of hydrodynamic forces, resistance, moments, and propeller performances were implemented to simulate the ship maneuvering process. The summary concludes a comparative analysis of the craft dynamics results at different rudder deflections. The results confirm the necessity of upgrading the simulation model to 4DOF.
