Electrification of ferry lines in Croatia: analyzing integration factors

Ferry lines play a significant role in connecting islands and the mainland. With a focus on the European sustainability initiatives implementation, this study aims to identify factors influencing the integration of electric ferries into the Croatian ferry network. This paper represents the preliminary phase of broader research and defines the issue, preparing it for the multi-criteria analysis. Potential solutions involving the electric ferries introduction are considered through data elaboration and visual representation in a flowchart. By providing a targeted analysis of barriers, this paper contributes to the ongoing discourse on sustainable transport, which aims to improve the overall efficiency of maritime cabotage in Croatia.
