Aircraft engine emissions reporting information system
Like all other transportation modes, air transport has an adverse effect on the environment and climate change. Despite the enormous benefits it brings to the society and global economy, the role of aviation and its environmental repercussions are nowadays frequently the subjects of greater scrutiny, most notably in relation to carbon emissions. Although they may not be seen as cutting-edge solutions, the development of technological solutions enabling automated data processing is of high importance for the aviation industry. In that respect, this paper presents a model developed to support processes of monitoring and reporting fuel burn and its conversion into emissions generated. As such, this review paper contributes to a better understanding of the aviation industry’s implications on the environment, primarily by disseminating findings on the development of a novel model that simultaneously enables simplification and automation of knowledge discovery.
