Perspectiva de los estudiantes en la formación de competencias en innovación dentro de un programa de ingeniería industrial
Traditionally, engineering education has been characterized by a purely technical focus, which is no longer sufficient according to the professional profile demanded by companies and society. To achieve this profile, the need to develop skills in innovation is essential in order to ensure a competitive performance for graduates of industrial engineering. This research is qualitative, with an intentional sample, interviews were conducted with six fifth-year industrial engineering students nearing graduation. The study is framed within an intrinsic case study. It was found from the students’ perspective, that the development of innovation skills is related to the training of innovative educators, changes in teaching methods, the equitable distribution of resources for laboratory practices, and academic support. This paper is part of a doctoral thesis research on innovation skills of industrial engineering students at Universidad Don Bosco of El Salvador.
