Educação Interprofissional em Saúde e o Cuidado Centrado na Pessoa: percepção de graduados
Background: interprofessional education is an educational approach that involves two or moreprofessions learning together interactively to improve collaboration and the quality of healthcare. Person-centered care is identified as a central element for health training, and includes three key elements that transcend the different professional categories: expanded perspective of healthcare; social and people’s participation in care; and professional-patient relationship. Objective: to analyze the perception of healthcare professionals trained from the perspective of interprofessionality and person-centered care. Methodology: this is research with a qualitative approach and analytical-descriptive character. Twenty-two healthcare professionals, graduates of interprofessionalundergraduate training, participated. Interviews were conducted using a semi-structuredscript, and the data was treated with content analysis in the thematic modality. Results: from the contents of the interviews, the thematic nucleus “IPE and preparation for person centered care” emerged with two categories: “Holistic view of healthcare”; and “Developments of teamwork”. Graduates pointed out the potential of interprofessional training to focus on the person under care. Final considerations: professional practice in an integrated manner with other professionalcategories strengthened Brazilian Health System principles and guidelines, enabling interprofessional teamwork and care centered on people’s demands, which fostered improvements in the quality of healthcare.
