QUANTITATIVE METHODS FOR MEASURING THE COMPETITIVENESS OF COMPANIES
The article considers the main concepts of competitiveness of companies and the methods for measuring this competitiveness based on them. It is shown that the concept of competitiveness of companies goes back to the studies of Michael Porter in the mid-80s of the 20th century, and the methods for measuring this competitiveness have been actively developed since the early 2000s. The essence of these methods consists in choosing a system of initial indicators based on actual measurement data or on subjective expert assessments, their normalization, weighting and constructing an aggregated or integral indicator of the company's competitiveness. In general, the aggregation of normalized and weighted indicators is carried out on an additive or multiplicative basis. It is shown that the additive method of aggregation is most often used to measure the competitiveness of companies, and only in one case was the use of the multiplicative method of such aggregation found. In rare cases, a mixed additive-multiplicative method of aggregation can be used. A number of the methods considered were based on benchmarking methodology. These include the balanced scorecard (BSC), dynamic balanced scorecard (DBSC) and the EFQM excellence model. It is shown that the most advanced methods for measuring the competitiveness of companies are based on Saaty's matrix hierarchical and network methods (AHP, ANP), and there are also attempts to synthesize the BSC and ANP models. A detailed review of selected methods of calculating the competitiveness of companies is made. In conclusion, it is noted that there is a great variety of methods and models for measuring the competitiveness of companies, which will be constantly improved in the conditions of transition to the digital economy.
