Electric, Magnetic, Acoustic Properties and Viscosity of Liquid Crystals
In the paper, the viscosity and the electric, magnetic and acoustic properties of liquid crystals, especially nematics, are discussed. All these properties are very important for applications of liquid crystals, and all of them are anisotropic. In the last part of the paper, essentialinformation regarding the behaviour of mesogen mixtures is presented, with the emphasis on phenomena important for fundamentalstudies and applications. The paper is intended for students, PhD students and engineers interested in properties of liquid crystals.
