Educational implications of the etymology of native nouns that constitute Korean grammatical collocations : Focusing on the etymology of “Ilssu”

This study investigated the etymology of “일쑤”, which constitutes the grammatical collocation “-기 일쑤이다”, and examined its educational implications. Various methods were used to search for the first appearance of “일쑤”. The results indicated, the pronunciation of “일수” influenced the notation. Moreover the meaning and pronunciation of “일쑤” were derived from “一事”, which was more valid in relation to the change in “ㄹ수록”. Regarding education, we suggested that as “一事” means “a daily repetitive event,” negative perceptions are added as repetitive events become habitual or boring.
