Goals of the Yugoslav regional development policy: 1945-1990
This paper examines the goals and evolution of Yugoslavia?s regional development policy from 1945 to 1990. It explores the constitutional provisions, program commitments of the KPJ/SKJ, and decisions made at KPJ/SKJ congresses, as well as their influence on social development plans. The analyses contextualize regional development goals within the broader framework of Yugoslavia?s overall development strategy. Special attention is given to the language and content of regional policy objectives, examining how these goals functioned as the verbalization of political action. Finally, the paper considers regional development policy in the context of democratization and the eventual disintegration of Yugoslavia.
