Institutional evaluation and strategic planning in higher education: knowledge and practices at a Pantanal-origin institution
Studying Institutional Evaluation and its relationship with Strategic Planning means reaffirming the importance of these instruments for institutional decision-making and for the pursuit of quality in the services provided to society. The present article describes the experience of a multi-campuses public state university on the development of an Institutional Evaluation integrated with Strategic Planning in a democratic and participatory manner. The results showed that the interfacial relation between planning and evaluation, through the SINAES axes and dimensions, is of the utmost importance in reducing the gap between what is planned and what is evaluated. Furthermore, university managers need to base their daily actions and activities on these institutional documents with a view to establish and achieve the quantitative and qualitative goals which are part of the university’s mission. https://doi.org/10.21723/riaee.v19i00.1949102
