Design of the Arrayed Ferrite Core Structure for the Distributed-turn Winding Coil

Distributed-turn winding coils are widely used in anti-offset wireless charging systems, but the performance of distributed-turn winding coils is difficult to be further improved due to the limitations of the core structure. This paper explores the magnetic field distribution characteristics of the distributed-turn winding coil and systematically summarizes the properties required for their magnetic core structures. Based on these findings, an innovative arrayed magnetic core structure design, consisting of central ferrite and ferrite rods, is proposed. The study further investigates the impact of different shapes of central ferrite on the performance of magnetic core structures. To validate the practical efficacy of the proposed arrayed ferrite structure, a comparative analysis of coupler efficiency is conducted against the use of traditional full ferrite plates. The results indicate that the arrayed ferrite structure design enhances coupler efficiency while reducing weight, demonstrating the superiority and effectiveness of this innovative design in practical applications.
