Selection of Operating Modes for CHP Units in the Spot Market
In the context of the spot market, the profitability of CHP unit differs in two modes: high back pressure and extraction condensing. To analyze the profitability of CHP units in different operating modes throughout the heating period, a model was constructed that considers revenue from capacity electricity subsidy, electricity sales, heating sales, fuel costs, and rotor replacement costs. Taking a thermal power plant in Northeast China as an example, the profit of the units operating in different modes during the heating period was calculated and analyzed, providing a basis for thermal power plants to choose operating modes for their heating units.
