Transient Stability Analysis of Grid-Forming Energy Storage Converter
The low inertia and weak damping characteristics brought about by the expanding scale of new energy connected to the grid affect the stability of the power grid. The small-signal model of grid-forming energy storage converter based on virtual synchronous machine is studied to investigate its transient stability. Firstly, the small-signal model of the grid-forming energy storage converter is established, and the mathematical expression of its control strategy is established, and then the transient small-signal model of the active-frequency control is investigated, and the influence of the control parameters on the stability of the system is reflected through the root trajectory; finally, the model of the virtual synchronous machine-based grid-forming energy storage converter is established in the matlab simulink, and the accuracy of the small-signal modeling and analysis is verified by the simulation. The accuracy of small-signal modeling analysis is verified by simulation.
