A Long duration Energy Storage Capacity Allocation Method for Large Renewable Energy Delivering Base Groups Considering Mutual Aid Among Groups
As the development of Desert, Gobi and Desertification Land, the large-scale renewable energy delivering base groups delivering by UHVDC need to configure a certain scale of energy storage to improve the utilization rate of renewable energy and reduce the dependence on the main network. Taken the planning pumped storage as the boundary, a novel long duration energy storage capacity allocation method for multi-region renewable energy delivering base groups is proposed based on time series production simulation and probability statistical analysis, which considers the cumulative distribution of abandoned power and abandoned electricity of renewable energy. The sensitivity of the mutual aid level between the RE delivering base groups on energy storage capacity is also carried out. A case study system is designed based on a planning power grid in Northwest China. The results show that the proposed a long duration energy storage capacity allocation method can effectively reduce the energy storage capacity scale considering the mutual aid among groups and the tie line of the planing power grid in not exceed its safely operation limit.
