Impact of Transmission Distance and Frequency on the Performance of a Three-Coil Underwater Wireless Power Transfer System
This paper examines the effects of transmission distance and frequency on a three-coil underwater wireless power transfer (WPT) system. A three-coil WPT circuit model is developed, and a coupled field-circuit simulation method is introduced to quantitatively analyze these impacts. Findings reveal that increasing transmission distance reduces coupling strength and slightly increases eddy current losses without altering the coils' electrical parameters. Additionally, higher resonance frequencies significantly increase both eddy current and core losses, with eddy current losses being more pronounced. These insights aid in optimizing the design and performance of three-coil underwater WPT systems.
