AC/DC Multiplexing Multi-port Power Converter
With the development of renewable energy, AC power grids are facing unprecedented challenges. The hybrid AC/DC distribution networks has significantly supported the development of modern power systems. In this paper, an AC/DC multiplexing multi-port power converter is proposed and characterized by high capacity, high voltage gain, and a wide range of voltage. The proposed converter is constructed by AC/DC multiplexing submodules and a switch interconnector, incorporating multiple voltage buses, reducing power losses and cost, compared with multi-stage convertors. By AC/DC multiplexing interfaces, the proposed converter enables bidirectional transmission of AC and DC power within a unified topology, aligning with the current trend of mixed AC and DC energy in power systems. Additionally, through the integration of an n-port-n-switch interconnector, the proposed converter establishes energy pathways among ports, facilitating power interconnection, and mutual support between ports, thereby enhancing the converter’s stability, safety, and reliability. Finally, an AC/DC multiplexing multi-port power converter is setup in experiment to verify the correctness and feasible in theory.
