A Bridgeless Boost-Flyback PFC Rectifier with Reduced Power Semiconductor Loss for Flexible AC/DC Distribution

This paper proposes a novel single-phase bridgeless PFC converter. By multiplexing power switches, the proposed structure integrates the traditional passive rectifier circuit and the flyback converter, thereby simplifying the topology and reducing the number of power devices. The circuit topology and operational mode are then analyzed in detail. Furthermore, the voltage transmission ratio, device voltage and current stress, and power semiconductor losses are calculated and compared with those of basic structures, emphasizing the superiority of the proposed structure. Finally, a 160W prototype with a specification of 110VAC/24VDC is developed, which validate the feasibility of the proposed topology and the correctness of the theoretical analysis.
