Detecting Redirected Curvature Gain Thresholds in Vehicle-based VR Environments
Recent research has made significant strides in redirecting curvature gain thresholds, primarily focusing on walking scenarios, while vehicle environments have received comparatively little attention. The dynamics of a vehicle impact users’ perceptual capacities in car-based VR experiences, influencing the thresholds for applying curvature gain. This study investigates the redirection of curvature gain thresholds for individuals in vehicles, specifically examining the effects of cognitive styles (field-dependent and field-independent), movement speed, and gain direction on these thresholds. The findings suggest that cognitive styles are important in providing a theoretical framework for the possible use of technology redirection in dynamic, complicated situations.
