A Transmission Power Feedforward Method for Power Low-Frequency Oscillation Suppression of VSG with Located Load in Ring Network
The virtual synchronous generator (VSG) is increasingly utilized in renewable energy-based microgrids. However, power oscillations can occur in multi-VSG systems with distributed loads in a ring network. Thus, a transmission power feedforward based power oscillation suppression method is proposed for VSGs with located load in ring network. Firstly, the simplified model of VSG with located load in ring network is proposed in power scale, and presents the poles with low damping ratio. Secondly, the transmission power feedforward-based power oscillation suppression method for VSGs is proposed, and the transmission power feedforward coefficient provides the added damping terms for the ring network and VSGs. Moreover, the poles present the higher damping ratio, when the transmission power feedforward coefficient is increased. Finally, a hard in loop setup is established for multi-VSGs in ring network to verify the proposed power oscillation suppression method.
