Research and Practice on the Construction of an IoT-based Intelligent Teaching Environment in Universities

With the rapid development of information technology and education philosophy, the application of intelligent teaching environments in university education has attracted widespread attention. This research delves into the construction of a multi-type smart classroom environment based on the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, specifically focusing on the application of smart locks and lighting systems in a smart teaching building. The objective is to enhance teaching quality, management efficiency, and student learning experiences. The paper presents a system architecture for an IoT-based intelligent teaching environment and details its pilot implementation at Beijing Foreign Studies University. Based on the system performance analysis in terms of classroom management, security, energy conservation, and teaching effectiveness, the paper also discusses current challenges and future directions for improvement.
