Impedance Modeling and Characterisation of MMC Considering DC Lines
The impedance modeling of MMC is a crucial basis for analyzing the origin of oscillations in flexible HVDC transmission systems. This paper thoroughly examines the harmonic transfer mechanism of MMC under DC-side excitation, successfully establishes a general method for calculating the DC-side impedance, and correlates the DC-side network's impedance during the modeling process. By conducting frequency sweep operations within the 1 - 1000Hz frequency band for MMC systems with different control methods under various operating conditions in simulation software, the accuracy of this method is verified. Simultaneously, the impacts of the current inner loop, circulating current, and outer loop controls on the MMC impedance are studied in detail. Finally, the correctness and effectiveness of this paper are verified through simulations.
