On the Economic Analysis of Energy Intensity and Carbon Intensity in East China
In the process of realizing the "dual-carbon" goal, energy intensity and carbon intensity are key indicators for assessing the balance between economic growth, energy efficiency, and environmental protection. This paper shows the intrinsic relationship between economic development and environmental protection through an in-depth analysis of energy intensity and carbon intensity in East China. Based on a detailed study of the energy structure and industrial structure of each province, the paper finds significant interregional differences in energy utilization efficiency and carbon emissions, and explores the key factors driving these differences. The findings provide precise decision support for policymakers, especially in optimizing regional energy structure, promoting industrial upgrading, and formulating low-carbon policies. In addition, this paper proposes policy recommendations to achieve regional green and low-carbon development through energy structure optimization and industrial restructuring, which provides a scientific basis for promoting high-quality low-carbon development in East China and nationwide.
