Lessons Learned From Solar Eclipse Citizen Science in Rural Ohio
The author has a deep love of astronomy, originally fostered in his childhood. He went on to become a 7-12 grade science teacher at a small, rural, public school in Ohio. That school was close to the centerline of the path of totality during the solar eclipse in 2024. In the years leading up to the two American Total Solar Eclipses, I - the author - learned several lessons about science outreach and conducting citizen science with students and the public. Those lessons are recounted in this narrative.
