Optimization design of aerospace optical module based on ray tracing simulation method
With the rapid development of space technology, various data-intensive tasks have higher and higher requirements for communication peak bandwidth, real-time data and reliability. High-speed optical interconnection technology is gradually extended to the aerospace field. However, the optical structure equipment in the optical module requires high precision, and the process window in the automatic assembly process is difficult to determine. At the same time, the requirements of the aerospace working temperature range are strict, and the coupling efficiency of the optical structure often fluctuates greatly in a large temperature range. In this paper, the optical path design of a 100Gbps SR4 high-reliability optical transceiver module for aerospace applications is systematically studied. Based on ray tracing simulation method, the transmission matrix and overlapping integration method are used to design the optical path, and the model of the dual-lens coupling module based on the 45° reflection prism is established. The aspheric lens is optimized using the geometric image analysis tool. The efficiency of the transmitting and receiving module reaches 81% and 86%. At the same time, the influence of three coupling mismatches on the coupling efficiency of each port of the transmitter and receiver components is analyzed. In order to adapt to the extreme conditions under the conditions of aerospace applications, the thermal analysis tool was used to create multiple structures to evaluate the coupling efficiency of the launch and receiver modules in the range of - 55℃~125℃. The results showed that the average coupling efficiency of the receiving modules was up to 81%, and the coupling efficiency of the transmitting modules was more than 83%. Finally, the full link model of the direct modulation optical transceiver module is established to explore the impact of optical module loss on the module error rate.
